30 Inch Tire

PIRELLI TIRES ARE "BIG" AT THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

Major Presence with Ford and European OEMs NEW YORK, April 17, 2006 - When Pirelli dedicated its revolutionary new MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) facility in Rome, Georgia, in August of 2002, it gave the sales force a competitive advantage while providing the design and manufacturing engineers with greater flexibility in producing an increasing range of high-performance radials. Pirelli's significant presence with U.S. original equipment (OE) fitments and on the floors of the nation's major auto shows is testimony to MIRS success. This week's New York International Auto Show at the Javits Center in New York City is a perfect example of Pirelli's recent growth in the North American market place.
First, and foremost, Guy Mannino, president of Pirelli Tyre North America, used a press conference at the show to introduce the world's first 30-inch, ultra-high-performance production tire for light truck and SUVs, in conjunction with TISTM Wheels. The biggest and baddest tire in New York City is fitted to the H2 Hummer of extreme pro skate boarder and MTV celebrity, Bam Margera. Based on the huge crowds in the Pirelli booth, one would think that the hottest concept car is on display.

Pirelli is also the sponsor of the "Dream Photo Shoot" where consumers can have their picture taken with a Pirelli-shod Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster and the Pirelli Girls for the third consecutive year. Proceeds go to local New York City charities.
Pirelli was recently selected as a strategic marketing partner of the Ford Motor Company and this factor is extremely evident on the floor of the show as the Five Hundred, Freestyle, Focus and the new Edge crossover vehicle are Pirelli-equipped as are the Expedition, F-150 and the F150 Harley Davidson featured at New York.
Within the Ford "family", Pirelli is also fitted to the Lincoln Mark LT and Navigator, the Mercury Montego, the Jaguar X-type and several models of Volvo, including the new C70 with P Zero Rossos.

At General Motors, Cadillac's high-performance STS-V and XLR-V models are fitted with Pirelli's run-flat Eufori@ radials while Chevrolet's Cobalt and Saab's 9-3 and 9-5 models are shod with P6 Four Seasons.
Pirelli is synonymous with high performance and it's no surprise that virtually every European manufacturer of high-performance vehicles chooses Pirelli for OE fitments. Audi's top-of-the-line A8L and new performance models RS4 and S8 are shown with P Zeros as are BMW (750i, 760i, X3 and the R1200 GS motorcycle), Bentley (the new Continental GTC, Azure and Mulliner), Ferrari (F430 and 612 Scaglietti), Maserati (the new Quattroporte Sport GT, GranSport Coupe and Spyder), Mini-Cooper and Mercedes Benz, where virtually every AMG model (CL63 AMG, S65 AMG, R63 AMG, ML63 AMG and the Unique Rolling Stones R500) is sporting Pirellis.
Truly a remarkable success story as Pirelli approaches the fifth anniversary of its MIRS facility.
