
ORDERING PROCEDURE:
Orders must be placed via email at least 2 weeks prior to each event through motorsportus@pirelli.com.
PAYMENT PROCEDURE:
Pirelli accepts two forms of payment for Grand Am racing tires: major credit card (no debit or check cards) and checks. If payment is made by check, teams must provide Pirelli a letter of good standing from the bank where the account is housed. All payments must be made on site. No credit terms will be extended. Applicable state sales tax will be charged.
Teams that require exact accounting of tire purchases at the end of each event, may stop by the Pirelli compound and request a Proforma Invoice detailing tire usage and billing. The Proforma Invoice serves a receipt for tire purchases. An official Pirelli invoice will be mailed approximately two weeks after each race.
AIR PRESSURE:
WE REQUIRE STRICT ADHERENCE TO RECOMMENDED AIR PRESSURES. PIRELLI ENGINEERS WILL BE IN PIT LANE AT ALL TIMES MONITORING TIRE PRESSURE. TEAMS NOT RESPECTING THIS GUIDELINE ASSUME THE RISK OF THEIR ACTIONS. OUR LENGTHY TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM HAS DETERMINED THIS RANGE.
BALANCING:
OUR POLICY IS TO NOT BALANCE REAR TIRES. THIS DECISION HAS BEEN DEVELOPED THROUGH COUNTLESS HOURS OF TESTING AND HAS BEEN PROVEN IN TEAM PERFORMANCE.
WE HAVE LEARNED NORMAL FORCES ON THE REAR WHEEL MAY CAUSE MINIMAL SLIPPAGE OF THE REAR TIRES. ANY WEIGHT ADDED DURING THE BALANCING PROCESS THEN CREATES GREATER "IMBALANCE" AND POSSIBLE VIBRATION. SINCE WE DO NOT BALANCE REAR TIRES, WE OPTIMIZE THE TIRE POSITION ON THE RIM TO MINIMIZE "IMBALANCE".
