Two Concepts of Safety

Passive Safety

It is the capacity of the car structure to protect passengers, limiting injuries to people in case of accidents (e.g.: air bag, side impact bars, etc.).
It does not imply the active role of the driver.

Active Safety

Active safety implies interaction of all car components involved in avoiding loss of adherence or accidents. In this respect the tire is the key component.
The driver action amplifies control opportunities.
